About the initiative

Security for the next wave of Web3 builders

Kann Audits is developing a security grant initiative designed to improve access to smart contract security assessments for Web3 projects while helping train the next generation of auditors.

Grant assessments combine Kann Audits researchers, supervised junior auditors from our training program and Kann AI, with senior review before anything reaches your team.

FAQ

Audit Grant FAQ

What is the $1M Audit Grant Initiative?

It is a Kann Audits program that subsidizes smart contract security assessments for Web3 builders. The $1,000,000 is the combined standard value of the assessments Kann Audits provides through the program. Approved projects pay a $250 participation fee instead of the full price of an audit.

Is applying free?

Yes. Applying costs nothing, and no payment details are collected with the application.

When is the deadline to apply?

Applications for Batch 1, the first cohort of the program, are open until 15 November 2026.

When do I pay the $250?

Only after your project is approved and you have received the exact assessment scope and terms. Approved projects pay the $250 participation fee and start the assessment within 30 days of acceptance.

What type of assessment will I receive?

A security assessment of the agreed smart contract scope: manual review supported by Kann AI, followed by senior review and quality assurance. Once the assessment finishes, you receive an official Kann Audits PDF report with the confirmed findings, severity ratings and remediation recommendations.

Who performs the security assessment?

Kann Audits researchers and supervised junior auditors from the Kann Audits training program, supported by Kann AI. Senior researchers review the findings and the quality of the work before delivery.

Which blockchains are supported?

Projects on Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, BNB Chain, Polygon, Solana, Avalanche and other chains can apply, with contracts in Solidity, Rust, Vyper, Move and other languages. Final eligibility depends on the language and scope and is confirmed during review.

What happens if my application is rejected?

Nothing is charged. You can apply again later, for example once your code is more complete, or contact Kann Audits about a standard engagement.

Does the assessment guarantee my smart contracts are secure?

A security assessment is an in-depth review of the agreed scope at a specific version of your code. It is designed to identify vulnerabilities and strengthen your security before launch, although no review can promise that a codebase is entirely free of issues.
